Simple models for the emergence of homochiral molecules and species in Astrobiology

The massive presence of molecules with a single chirality is a
distinctive sign of Life, and one of the ambitions of Astrobiology and
Astrochemistry is to provide a coherent explanation for this issue.
Remarkably, at a much more macroscopic level, homochirality is observed
in complex organisms including humans. Very simple models can explain
this emergence as an effect of growth and fluctuations, taking into
account hydrodynamics (in water) or resource distribution. A metamodel
proposed by the group of the author may explain the anomalous high level
of fluctuation observed in these model, which speeds up considerably the
selection process
