Short description:

The wheelset problem is an Implicit Differential Equation of dimension 17 which shows some typical properties of simulation problems in contact mechanics, i.e., friction, contact conditions, stiffness, etc.. This problem is originally described by an index 3 IDE with additional 1 equations, but can be reduced to index 2. Test results are based on the index-2 formulation.
